Signed card from the violinist mounted to album paper with a half-tone photograph clipped from an unidentified publication.  Includes an addition half-tone photograph.  Fine.  Card measures 3.25 x 2.25 inch (8.2 x 5.7 cm.), paper 8.5 x 5 inches (21.6 x 12.7 cm.).

The important violinist and pedagogue was a student of Auer who went on to have a major performing career and to become the long-time director of the Curtis Institute of Music. He came out of retirement in 1952 to give the world premiere of Menotti's Violin Concerto which was dedicated to him. Among his pupils were Oscar Shumsky and Felix Slatkin. (18711)
