TLS from the medical researcher to Professor Irma Antonetto of the Associazione Culturale Italiana in Turin, letting her know that the manuscript for his forthcoming speech would be ready for translation "at the end of January or early February."  He would be speaking at the Associazione that April.  Dated January 6 1965, 1 pp., on Children's Hospital Research Foundation stationary, one of the two medical institutions with which Sabin had a long-standing association.  Expected mailing folds, else very fine, 8.5 x 11 inches (21.6 x 27.9 cm.).

Albert Sabin was a Polish-American medical researcher, responsible for the development of the oral polio vaccine.  In 1986 he received the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

Irma Antonetto (1920-1993), was founder and director of the Associazione Culturale Italiana [Association of Italian Culture] for 46 years, during which time she brought some 400 philosophers, writers, scientists, artists, and Nobel winners to lecture in Italy. She was recipient of the 1964 Cavaliere al merito della Repubblica italiana. (18585)
