"After which (15th time with some omissions), the Opera of The Marriage of Figaro" - Original 1819 Broadside

Original broadside from a program at the Theatre Royal, Covent-Garden on Friday, July 9, 1819, including performances of Richard Brinsley Sheridan's School for Scandal and Mozart's masterful comic opera The Marriage of Figaro, presented "with some omissions," also noting that "The Overture and Musick selected chiefly from Mozart's Opera - The new Musick composed, & the whole arranged & adapted to the English Stage by Mr. BISHOP." Figures of note include opera singer and Countess of Essex Catherine Stephens along with actors Charles Kemble and John Liston.  Creases and rough edges, but overall in fine condition for its age. Approximately 8.25 x 12.25 inches (21.3 x 42.5 cm).

Charles Kemble was an English actor from a prominent theatre family. Both of his parents, Roger Kemble and Sarah Ward, were successful actors, as were several of his thirteen siblings. (18496)
