Bound in full black silk with gilt spine titling, and housed in pictorial slipcase. This copy signed and dated 1990 on the first page, beneath a color illustration, the artist also adding a small drawing of a heart. A fine copy of this collection of facsimile reproductions of the American artist's sketchbook, including sketches for his paintings such as "Cold Cereal" and "California Cakes". Selected and edited by Constance and Jack Glenn, with an introduction by the former.

The American painter is known for his use of heavy pigmentation and exaggerated colors in works depicting commonplace objects such as pies, lipsticks, paint cans, ice cream cones, pastries, and hot dogs, as well as for his landscapes and figure paintings. Associated with the pop art movement because of his interest in objects of mass culture, Thiebaud's early works slightly predate the works of the classic pop artists. (18488)
