A short note from the composer's widow on mourning stationary, together with the envelope addressed to Monsieur Fortuné Rousselet. She thanks him for his kind thoughts and tells him that she is sending him some "objets ayant servi a mon mari." Dated April 12, 1913.

The composer was introduced to his future wife by Franz Liszt, while he was in Italy after having won the Prix de Rome in 1863. The couple was married in 1866. (1840)
