Original photograph of German composer in his study, taken by Eschen, the great German photojournalist and portraitist.  Slight wear along edges, else fine, 8 x 10 inches (20.5 x 25 cm.).

Banned from working as a photographer during the Third Reich due to his political views, Eschen nevertheless occasionally worked under a pseudonym for agencies such as Associated Press and the Deutsches Reichsbahn. After the end of the war, he was able to work again openly. (18334)
