Frantz, Dalies. (1908 – 1965)

A DeBellis Studios doubleweight photograph signed by the dashing American pianist who has inscribed "To Mrs. Gillespie/ with my best wishes/ Dalies Frantz." 4 x 5 inches (10 x 12.5 cm). Together with the original envelope, addressed in Frantz's hand, postmarked Sanatorium, Tex., Apr 6, 4 pm, 1946. 6.5 x 4.75 inches (16 x 12 cm). Light wear around the edges, otherwise fine condition.

A student of Schnabel and Horowitz who went on to tour extensively in the 1930's, Frantz later had a minor film career, and was chair of the piano department at the University of Texas. (18279)
