Charming photograph of the piano-duo, shoulder-to-shoulder, each sitting at their own instrument, signed and inscribed "To Mrs. Robert Gillespie/ with happy remembrances/ Ethel Bartlett/ Rae Robertson." 8 x 10 inches (21.5 x 25.8 cm). Small crease at the top, three small notches on the left side, otherwise fine.

A popular husband-and-wife team throughout the 1930's and 40's, Bartlett and Robertson toured the world performing the two-piano repertoire. A number of prominent composers, including Benjamin Britten, wrote pieces especially for them. (18278)
