Neatly penned AMQS from an unidentified composition, five measures inscribed "Pour Mme. Ida Schlosser," signed "C. Saint-Saëns," dated "Londres 4 Juillet 1880," adding the address of "14 rue Monsieur-le-Prince Paris." 1 page, 28.5 x 10 cm. In very good condition, with uniform toning, creases apparently from mailing and some small mounting remnants and old repairs to the sheet.

Autograph musical quotations from the influential French composer are quite uncommon. (18255)
