Autograph Musical Quotation Signed from "Ero e Leandro"

Autograph musical quotation signed from the Italian conductor, composer, and cellist. He has penned an autograph musical quotation of two bars from Act I, Scene 6 of his opera Ero e Leandro, with the text: "Ero soave dal volto celeste," boldly signed below and dated New York, 1901. On letterhead of the Hotel Lavarre, New York. Folding creases and one split at the upper left. Overall very good. 5.5 x 8.5 inches (14 x 21.6 cm).

Mancinelli was on the conductors' roster of the New York Metropolitan Opera for 10 years, ending in 1903. In that capacity he conducted 531 performances of a variety of mainstream operas by Italian, French and German composers; and, in 1899, a performance of his own opera, Ero e Leandro. (17996)
