Souvenir program from the legendary ballerina's June 1921 performance at the Palais du Trocadero, in a charity performance for Russian refugees and the widows and orphans of the war in France. Black-and-white illustrations of Pavlova and other dancers including Volinine, Stuart, Stowitts, Brunova, Lindowska, and Karpova. Original wrappers with color illustration by N. Remisov. Published by the Comoedia Illustré, with advertising on the last several pages. Label from Gotham Book Mart on the back wrapper. Covers toned with corner creases, a few small losses and tears; staple binding rather rusted. Overall very good. 9.75 x 12.5 inches (24.7 x 32 cm).

From the collection of Paul McMahon, a critic, photographer and artist who worked for more than 13 years touring with Marlene Dietrich as the icon’s stage manager, announcer, dresser, secretary and escort, and later spent 25 years as an arts and entertainment reviewer and photographer with Gay Community News, Esplanade, Tommy’s Connection, The Mirror, Bay Windows and other publications.
