Two Original FDR Convention Ball Tickets Featuring Jazz Performers

Two original tickets to gala balls given in honor of Franklin Delano Roosevelt by the Democratic Negro Campaign Committee in 1936 and 1938. The ball on October 23, 1936 (ticket with stub still attached) featured Jimmy Lunceford and a "Marvelous Floor Show"; the ball on October 28, [1938] featured Chick Webb and Ella Fitzgerald. 1936 ticket in very fine condition, 6 x 3 inches (15.1 x 7.6 cm); 1938 ticket in fair condition with heavy soiling and creases, 4 x 3 inches (10.2 x 7.3 cm).
