The songs included are "Died for Love" (no. 10; 6 pp.) and "Six Dukes Went Afishin'" (no. 11, 8 pp.) for voice and piano. Ownership stamp of Clara Clemens to the wrappers. Some light soiling; overall fine. 9.5 x 12 inches (24.5 x 31 cm).

Clara Langhorne Clemens Samossoud was the daughter of Samuel Clemens, who wrote as Mark Twain. She was a contralto concert singer and, as her father's only surviving child, managed his estate and guarded his legacy after his death. She was married twice—first to pianist and composer Ossip Gabrilowitsch, then (after Gabrilowitsch's death) to Russian composer Jacques Samossoud.  (17690)
