Although Braque never visited Greece, as a young artist he often frequented the pre-classical exhibition halls at the Louvre and in 1931 the first motifs relating to the Greek Mythology appeared in Braque’s work. From this time, Greek Mythology references can be found across all of Braque’s different techniques: paintings, drawings, sculptures and of course in his graphic art. (17651)
