Signed "Erni" in pencil at the lower right, numbered "43/750" at the lower left. Lithograph on paper, image size 23 x 19 inches (48 x 61 cm), framed to an overall size of 31 x 36 inches. Small crease or tear to lower right margin, rippling, toning, not examined out of frame. Frame with some significant chips and damage. Overall fine in good frame.

Hans Erni was a Swiss graphic designer, painter, illustrator, engraver and sculptor. He is known for having illustrated postage stamps, his lithographs for the Swiss Red Cross, his participation on the Olympic Committee and his activism. His first major public success was a mural titled Switzerland: "Vacation Land of the People" was commissioned and displayed for the national exhibition in Zürich. (17633)
