Typed letter signed from the important conductor to an old friend, wishing her a happy new year. December 30, 1966; 1 p. Szell writes to Liesel Herz: "Just back from a little mid-winter vacation, I find in a mountain of mail and Christmas cards your very sweet note. I am really very deeply touched by your remembrance and by the trouble you took in writing me, and hasten to thank you and to wish you a very good New Year. Forgive me for doctating this, but it is the only way for me to catch up with the flood of correspondence. Needless to say, I still very well remember the times when we saw more of each other, almost half a century ago. It is good to know that you are still around and I wish you may be for quite some time to come. Most cordially, George."
