Portrait medal, ca. 1790's France, commemorating the Union des Sociétés Musicales de Paris. The recto shows a nude male, crowned in laurels and playing a lyre; the verso shows a garland of leaves and musical instruments. Heavy die-clashe on both sides, which has left some mirror-image of the opposite side (a so-called ghosting) of the medal; otherwise very good. 17.39 g, 34 mm.
