1911 Royal Opera House Programme, Printed on Silk

Programme from a June 26, 1911 State Performance of the Royal Opera at Covent Garden, in honor of the coronation of King George V and Queen Mary. The performance included the Russian Ballet with Nijinsky, Karsavina, Cecchetti, Nijinska and others in "Le Pavillon d'Armide," as well as scenes from Aïda, Roméo et Juliette, and Il Barbiere di Siviglia. Nellie Melba sang the role of Juliette, and Luisa Tetrazzini followed in the role of Rosina. Attractively printed on silk, fringed around the edges, with the Royal insignia and a decorative border with portraits of the King and Queen. Mounted onto card covered in green felt. In very fine condition. 12.5 x 18 inches (31.5 x 45.5 cm), mounted to an overall size of 16.5 x 22.5 inches. (17346)
