"Peace" - 1966 Piglet and Pooh Handbill

Original 1966 handbill advertising an October 8 concert by Brazilian guitarist Bola Sete and The Grateful Dead at Mt. Tamaipais Outdoor Theater in Marin County, CA. The design, by iconic psychedelic poster artists Stanley Mouse and Alton Kelley of Mouse Studios, shows A. A. Milne's characters Pooh and Piglet walking towards a setting sun, under the word "Peace" (with Pooh carrying a kilo in his arm and Piglet casually blowing smoke at the sky!) The show was presented by the congressional campaign of anti-war candidate Phil Drath. Trimmed down to 6.25 x 9.5 inches (15.7 x 24 cm) and mounted on a same-size mount. Toning and some edge chips; overall very good.

Three different versions of this image exist; the one offered here is the version rarely seen. The other two versions are shown in Grushkin's The Art of Rock as Plate Numbers 2.325 and 2.326. The AOR 2.325 is the commonly seen version that lists Joan Baez instead of Bola Sete. (17279)
