"Rue Jacques Prévert" - Signed and Inscribed to fellow Photographer Marceau Devillers

Paris: Editions Hoëbeke. 1992. Collection of the important photographer and pioneering photojournalist's street images, signed and inscribed on the half-title by Doisneau: "Pour Sylvie et Marceau Devillers cette petite promenade dans le jardin de Jacques l'Enchanteur - En toute complicité: Robert Doisneau / Octobre 1992." 124 pp. 4to. Hardcover in dust jacket. Slight edge wear to dust jacket but overall very fine.
The photographer Marceau Devillers is remembered chiefly for his photographs of James Dean and other Hollywood stars.

Doisneau worked with writers and poets such as Blaise Cendrars and Jacques Prevert, and he credited Prevert with giving him the confidence to photograph the everyday street scenes that most people simply ignored. Together with Henri Cartier-Bresson he was a pioneer of photojournalism. (17189)
