Rare signed LP, released by Partch himself on his own private Gate 5 label, this copy signed and inscribed on the back of the sleeve: "For Pat Ford – Harry Partch. June 1970." Some edge wear and partial splits to the sleeve, overall very good. Record present but untested.Autograph material is very scarce from the American composer and instrument creator who was one of the first twentieth-century composers to work extensively and systematically with microtonal scales. He wrote much of his music for custom-made instruments that he built himself, tuned in 11-limit (43-tone) just intonation. The present album contains Partch's works Poems by Li Po, Windsong, Two Studies on Ancient Greek Scale, Intrusions, Cloud-Chamber Music, Bless This Home, and By the Rivers of Babylon. (17187)
