Autograph Letter to Florizel von Reuter

Autograph letter signed from the French-Breton composer, winner of the second prize for composition in the Prix de Rome of 1899. 1 p., [n.d.], postmarked April 16, 1913. Translated from the French: "Dear friend, I cannot come to your concert on Thursday, and I'm sorry about that. If you will allow me, I will give the ticket to some students who will be delighted to hear you. My respects to your mother, and my cordial wishes to you, dear friend. Léon Moreau. 17 av. Gourgaud." Toning, with tape remnants to the verso. Overall fine. 4.5 x 5.5 inches (11.2 x 14 cm).

Florizel von Reuter was an American-born violinist and composer, a child prodigy who went on to an adult career, mainly in Germany, as distinguished soloist and teacher of violin. He was also a psychic and medium and the author of several books on his alleged mediumistic communications with deceased musicians. (17064)
