Signed photograph from the esteemed Soviet composer whose 15 symphonies and large body of chamber and instrumental works occupy a place of central importance in the 20th-century repertoire.


A 12pp. printed programme for the Scottish National Orchestra's (cond. Alexander Gibson) performance of an evening of Shostakovich's music at the Usher Hall, Edinburgh on Monday, 3rd September 1962, SIGNED by Shostakovich beneath his portrait in the concert programme. Overall approx. 200 x 125mm. Some minor creasing and wear, but overall a lovely item. The vendor recalls: "Across the aisle was this smallish anonymous looking person surrounded, as I remember them, by dark suited men. I slipped across during the interval and thrust my programme hopefully at him". (16949)
