Autograph note from the important composer to journalist Jeff Goldberg: "Thank you for sending the interview. I think it is interesting. Hope all goes well for you. John." October 11, 1976. 1 p. on a "Note-O-Gram," with the carbon copy layer still intact. Together with the original window envelope printed with Cage's address. Some toning but overall in fine condition. 8.5 x 7.75 inches (21.6 x 19.7 cm).

We include a signed statement from Jeff Goldberg, recalling: "In 1976, I conducted an extensive interview with John Cage over several sessions at his Bank Street apartment. I received this thank-you note from him after the interview was published in the Transatlantic Review, May 1976." Also included is a photocopy of the article. (16753)
