Autograph Letter at age 26, signed "Edvard Grieg, Norwegian composer"

Autograph letter from the young Norwegian composer, to music publisher and editor Herr Barth[old]-Senff, in German, saying that he will be traveling to Italy via Leipzig and asking the Senff to keep aside for him all the correspondence that should arrive in Leipzig during his absence. (Full translation below.) Copenhagen, November 14, 1869. 1 p. Folding creases, some creasing and toning; slightly wrinkled at the right edge. Overall in very good condition. 5.25 x 8.25 inches (13.3 x 20.9 cm).

Translated from the German:
"To Herr Barth-Senff, Leipzig. Since I will stop over in Leipzig for a few days on my journey to Italy, would you have the goodness to keep for me any letters which come to me at your address. Respectfully, Edvard Grieg, Norwegian composer."

Senff was the first managing director at Kistner in Leipzig, where he later founded the publishing house B. Senff in 1850.  In 1843 he founded the magazine Zeitschrift Signale für die musikalische Welt, which he edited until his death. (16613)
