Signed postcard photograph of the important violinist, composer and conductor, who is shown playing in a portrait photographed by Rotary of London. He has penned at the head in red ink (translated from the French): "Souvenir of a great friend of all England," signing below and adding an inscription at the left. Very fine. 3.5 x 5.5 inches (9 x 13.5 cm).

Carl Flesch called Ysaÿe "the most outstanding and individual violinist I have ever heard in my life," and he was the dedicatee of many major works from Debussy, Saint-Saens, Franck, Chausson and others. (16429)
