Autograph note from the German music educator and composer, making an appointment. 1 p., on a postcard postmarked Feburary 18, 1886. Raif pens (translated from the German): "Thursday at 12 o'clock / Best wishes / Oscar Raif." Toning and tape remnants; overall very good. 5.5 x 3.5 inches (14 x 9 cm).

Raif studied under Tausig but was forced to give up performing because of ill health. Turning his attention to teaching, he became professor of piano at the Königliche Hochschule Berlin.  (16381)
