Original telegram from the important German composer, who cables from New Haven to Buenos Aires to the German-Argentinian concert promoter Geraldo Uhlfelder: "Difficult estimate your offer because of your changeable monetary situation. Please make offer in dollar currency stating if immediate transfer possible. Hindemith." Stamped at the upper right: Buenos Aires, February 10, 1951. Toning and light wear, overall fine. 8.25 x 8 inches (21 x 20.7 cm).

Geraldo Uhlfelder was the founder of the concert agency "Organización de Conciertos Gérard" in Buenos Aires, Argentine. Uhlfelder emigrated to Argentina in 1938 and founded his agency in 1948. He published his memoirs in 1990 with the title "Allegro ma non troppo." (16270)
