Autograph signature from the American violinist, composer and friend of Debussy, who has inscribed next to a most unusual small mounted photograph of himself playing the violin with his back turned to the camera: "Miss Ramsay, in ["Tragicomme"?] remembrance of a fellow-sufferer in Berlin / Arthur Hartmann / May 16, '06." Photograph neatly mounted within four small diagonal splits, intact; light edge toning; overall fine. Photograph 1.75 x 2.75 inches (4.8 x 7.2 cm), album leaf 7.25 x 4.5 inches (18.3 x 11.3 cm).
