Autograph Musical Quotation
Uncommon autograph musical quotation on a small album leaf from the Spanish virtuoso pianist, composer, and piano pedagogue, who has penned a short theme with the words "L'Ambassadeur de France" and noted in Spanish: "With admiration and apologies to dear Manén" [presumably Juan Manén (1883–1971), the Spanish violinist and composer who was particularly successful in Germany for his operas and orchestral works]. On the verso of the leaf, another hand has inscribed: "In remembrance of a charming acquaintance—"Teddy Jonás" and his mother Elsa von Grave / Berlin, May 1906."
