Autograph Letter from the Quartett-Verein in Paris

Autograph letter to the violinist Waldemar Meyer, on letterhead of the Quartett-Verein zu Paris, thanking him for his excellent performance. 1 p., Paris, December 5, 1881. The chair of the committee, F. Graef, writes (translated from the German): "Dear sir! We are honored to thank you on behalf of the Quartett-Verein for your wonderful performance in the concert on the 26th of last month, through which you made it a very special highlight; and we assure you that we will always remember with happiness the great artistic enjoyment offered to us and our guests. Please accept the accompanying small memento and the assurance of our great respect. For the committee of the Quartettverein, F. Graef." Folding crease, pinholes, areas of uneven toning; overall very good. 8 x 10 inches (20.2 x 25.1 cm).

The Quartett-Verein in Paris was one of several German social and cultural organizations which emerged in Paris in the late nineteenth century, as the German community rebuilt itself after the Franco-Prussian war. (16196)
