Original 1968 concert poster from the alto saxophonist and composer, one of the most powerful and contentious innovators in the history of jazz. He appeared at the Fillmore West in San Francisco, CA on August 5, 1968. The psychedelic-style lettering of the poster is superimposed over a page from the score of his "San Francisco Sun Suites." Thumbtack holes and some light wear; overall fine. 14 x 20 inches.Art by Dore (musical score written by Ornette Coleman), image is not part of the numbered Bill Graham/Fillmore series (it is between BG 131 and 132), but it is featured in the "Unusual Fillmore Shows" chapter of the Art of Rock (page 153, plate 2.80).
