Signed 8 x 10 inch glossy promotional photograph of the American dancer and choreographer who was at the forefront of the American avant garde for more than 50 years. He is shown dancing among TV monitors all displaying his face, as photographed by Terry Stevenson in 1981. He has signed and inscribed at the foot: "To Steve Juscik with best wishes, Merce Cunningham." In very fine condition.The photograph likely relates to Cunningham's 1978 work "Fractions," a video-dance which showed multiple perspectives of the same dance on multiple TV monitors, or his 1981 video performance "Channels/Inserts." Both were collaborations with video artist Charles Atlas. (16150)
