Signed photograph of the fine American pianist who gave the American premiere of Shostakovich's First Piano Concerto (Philadelphia, 1934) and who performed at the Potsdam conference in 1945 for Truman, Churchill and Stalin. He has inscribed at the right to music critic Raymond Morin: "For Raymond—a gifted, erudite and entertaining friend. Vive Morin! Vive L'Entente Cordiale! Gene."
