Large original doubleweight photograph of the influential Italian opera manager, shown in a profile portrait by Mishkin of N.Y, ca. 1910.  Press stamp to the verso. Some light edge wear, but overall in fine condition. 9.5 x 13.5 inches (24.2 x 34 cm).

Gatti-Casazza succeeded his father as manager of the municipal theatre in Ferrara and was manager of La Scala in Milan from 1898 to 1908, before his move to New York City where he was head of the Metropolitan Opera from 1908 to 1935. (15880)
