Autograph Musical Quotation with Caricature and Signed Envelope

Autograph musical quotation from the French violinist, a student of Massenet and friend of Reynaldo Hahn. He has penned eight measures for trumpet, drum, and orchestra, signed at the lower right and dated January 1894. The quotation is mounted at the foot of a larger sheet bearing an amusing caricature of Moret by Alfred Porcabeuf, 1888. Moret is shown standing in a packet of tobacco with his long curly hair flowing around him, while musical notes billow up from a large cigarette. Together with an autograph signature from Moret, inscribed to a Madame Bonnet on a small envelope. Musical quotation wrinkled with some slight soiling; envelope ripped at the head; overall very good. 9.5 x 12.5 inches (24 x 31.5 cm) and 4.75 x 2.5 inches (12 x 6 cm).
