Studies of a Stag and Deer

Two unsigned pen and ink studies attributed to the English painter and sculptor, well known for his paintings of animals (particularly of stags) and for his lion sculptures in Trafalgar Square, London. 182 x 139 mm; 172 x 150 mm. One with the artist's name on the verso in an unknown hand, a few creases and small stains and two repairs to the paper along the upper and lower edges. The other with the number 113 inscribed upper right, else fine.  (15711)
