"Fussin" - Signed and Inscribed Sheet Music Wrapper

Signed sheet music wrapper from the important jazz pianist, one of the masters of the stride style. On the cover of his song "Fussin' " he has inscribed, apparently to jazz pianist Milt Raskin: "to my Pal / a fine fellow / and a real / jazz artist," and signed "Lion." Inner pages of music missing; wrapper includes only advertising and the final page of music. 4 pp. total. Stamped by Milton Raskin at the upper edge of the cover.

American swing jazz pianist Milt Raskin played in New York in the 1930's with artists including Wingy Manone, Gene Krupa, and Tommy Dorsey. He moved to Los Angeles in 1944, where he occasionally worked in jazz (including on recordings by Artie Shaw, Billie Holiday, and Georgie Auld), but concentrated on work as a studio musician and musical director.
