Autograph musical quotation in the hand of the English composer and conductor, who has penned the first eight measures of his well-known setting of the Tennyson poem "Sweet and Low." Undated. Neatly penned over two systems on a trimmed leaf of manuscript paper. Overall toning; horizontal folding crease with a slight split; overall in very good condition. 6.5 x 4 inches (16.6 x 10.5 cm). Together with a clipping from the Strand Magazine with a short biography and engraved portraits of Barnby. (15643)
