Autograph Signature
Autograph signature from the choreographer known as the father of American ballet. He has signed boldly in blue ink at the foot of a typed sheet bearing a description of the ballet Walpurgis Night, originally choreographed by Leonid Lavrovsky for the Bolshoi Ballet in 1941. Balanchine's own similar ballet, Walpurgisnacht Ballet, was premiered as part of a 1975 production of Gounod's Faust.
