Rossiter, Will. (1867–1954)

Two Autograph Letters

Two autograph letters from the American publisher and distributor of songbooks and sheet music, to a business associate. May 2, 1899 and May 3, 1899. Addressed to a Mr. J. A. Lieder, the first letter (1 p.) deals with a shipment of songbooks and a proposed business deal with another music seller, Lehman Bros. The second letter (3 pp.), calls off the deal with the correspondent completely and rebukes him: "You don't seem to realize you had the agency for the best song books in the world and could make a big thing of it, and you must have known from the first you could not 'swing it' and should not have undertaken it..." Toning, some smudging to one page and wrinkling; overall very good. 8.5 x 11 inches (21.5 x 27.7 cm). (15628)
