Original press photograph showing "the scene in front of the Church of St. Mary of the Angels while services were held for the famous composer Puccini in Rome." Original press caption on the verso, dated February 2, 1925. Lightly wrinkled, with crop marks, some light over-drawing and notations on the image; overall very good. 10 x 8 inches (26 x 19.5 cm).

Puccini's funeral was also captured in a 7-minute documentary by Gaumont, which also contained various fragments of footage from the last years of the composer's life. (15407)
