"Take the accordion!" - Original Cartoon Drafts for the New Yorker

Amusing original cartoon drafts drawn for the New Yorker by cartoonist Tom Toro, showing the victim of a home invasion begging the thief to take her husband's accordion. Black and blue ink on paper. Signed "Toro" in upper right image, captioned below. Three pages of preliminary sketches. 8.25 x 9.75 inches (21 x 24.8 cm). The final version was published in the New Yorker on April 18, 2016, an image of which is shown here for reference only. 

Toro (1982 - ) is a Kansas City-based cartoonist who published his first cartoon in The New Yorker in 2010 and quickly became a favorite contributor. To date, he has published over 150 cartoons for the magazine. In 2016, two of Toro''s cartoons were featured in a juried exhibition at the Society of Illustrators annual Comic and Cartoon Exhibit.
