The American dancer Loie Fuller found great success in late-nineteenth-century Paris, appearing at the Folies Bergère and other celebrated venues. Attracting the attention of many artists such as Toulouse-Lautrec, Chéret, and Rodin, she was frequently painted and became an important figure of the Art Nouveau. She was also a pioneer of modern theatrical lighting, holding several patents for technologies that created colored stage lights.  (15147)
