Autograph letter from the important German actor, theater director and writer, to the publishing house of Austrian pacifist (later winner of the Nobel Peace Prize) Alfred Hermann Fried. Berlin, September 23, [18]91. Translated from the German: "The work that you have planned will certainly be of use as a reference work among experts. Whether it would find friends outside these circles, I tend to doubt. It depends very much on the presentation of the plan. The task is great and certainly not easy.
