Original Photograph

Original photograph of the alto saxophonist known for his solo work with Duke Ellington's big band, captured by great music photographer Jim Marshall. 11 x 8 inches, affixed to a same-sized mount. Some light edge wear, but overall in fine condition with the photographer's stamp on the verso.

Jim Marshall is best-known for his extended access to rock 'n' roll musicians of the 1960's and 1970's, acting as the chief photographer at Woodstock and photographing the Beatles' final paid live concert in San Francisco's Candlestick Park. He also photographed numerous jazz musicians, including Thelonious Monk, John Coltrane, and Miles Davis. (14968)
