Autograph letter from the important French film director, screenwriter, and actor to the painter Paul Louis Gachet, son of Paul Gachet, the doctor and artist best known for having attended Vincent van Gogh during his last months. On Renoir's Beverly Hills letterhead, undated. Translated from the French: "Dear Monsieur Gachet, Thank you for the photograph of the painting of the Louvre, and thank you for your interesting letter. I am delighted that you have decided to publish some of your memories. I wish you all the best for this enterprise. Your invitation is very touching. My wife and I will make sure to knock on your door of your house in Anvers on our next visit to France. With my best wishes, Jean Renoir." 8 x 10 inches. 21.5 x 28 cm.
