Autograph Album

An interesting autograph album containing signatures from opera singers, dancers, actors and other celebrities collected ca. 1961. The signatures represented include: opera singers Luciano Pavarotti, Jerome Hines, Anna Moffo, Lucine Amara, Franco Corelli, Birgit Nilsson, Richard Tucker, Dorothy Kirsten, Cesare Valletti, Giorgio Tozzi, Mildred Allen, Victoria de los Angeles, and others; ballet dancers George Zoritch and Igor Youskevitch; jazz singer Dakota Staton, politician Ted Kennedy, actress and comedian Phyllis Diller, songwriter Earl Montgomery, actors Victor Thorley, Ferdi Hoffmann, Sydney Walker, Dino Tarronova, Margaret Hall, Nat Barnes, and Robert Duke, and others. 46 signatures in all, with all pages of the small album filled. Some of the signatures are inscribed to the collector, Paul McMahon. Leather-bound album with light internal toning, but overall in fine condition. 6 x 4.75 inches (15.3 x 12 cm).

From the library of Paul McMahon, a critic, photographer and artist who worked for more than 13 years touring with Marlene Dietrich as the icon’s stage manager, announcer, dresser, secretary and escort, and later spent 25 years as an arts and entertainment reviewer and photographer with Gay Community News, Esplanade, Tommy’s Connection, The Mirror, Bay Windows and other publications.  (14860)
