Engraver's Emblem
Original engraving of the important engraver's name, surrounded by an ornate frame with cherubs, a goddess figure, and the engraver himself. Drawn by Hogarth and engraved by Samuel Ireland, with his initials at the lower right. The date of April 23, 1720 is incorporated into the design. With a later inscription in pencil below the print. 12.5 x 10 cm, with wide margins and measuring 15 x 22 cm overall. Mounted to a slightly larger sheet, pencil notation to lower margin, overall fine. (14828)Art Art & Design
