Davis, Bette. (1908–1989) & Sherman, Hiram. (1908–1989) & Kaye, Nora. (1920–1987) & Dassin, Jules. (1911–2008)

"Two's Company" - Signed Souvenir Program

Original souvenir program from Bette Davis's 1952 musical revue, boldly signed by Davis across her photograph on an internal page, and additionally signed by co-stars Hiram Sherman and Nora Kaye and director Jules Dassin. 16 pp. Light wear to the spine, but overall in fine condition. 9 x 12 inches (22.5 x 30 cm).

After a rocky start in regional theaters (with Davis collapsing on stage in Detroit), and several rewrites, Davis's musical revue opened on Broadway in 1952. Sketches written by Charles Sherman and Peter De Vries showcased Davis's comedic talent, while Vernon Duke wrote the music and Ogden Nash and Sammy Cahn contributed lyrics. Despite bad reviews, the show played to sold-out houses, but had to be closed when Davis became ill. (14799)
